Timor awareness

The St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's 'Team Timor' recently committed a week to raising student awareness and money for the East Timorese.

'Timor Week' began with a lunchtime flag painting session where students artistically used their hands to create a handprint collage of the East Timor flag.

Facts on East Timor were displayed on the canteen blackboard wall, as well as in the student bulletin throughout the week to educate students.

During a special presentation at the secondary school's assembly, the secondary student cohort were tested by members of Team Timor via a group quiz, to test which messages had been remembered throughout the week.

A casual clothes day ended the week, while a barbecue and cinema night were organised to help raise money to be donated to the Friends of Ermera, who help fund community and education projects in the Ermera region of East Timor.
