Artist publishes book

Local artist Brenda Dale has self published her first book.

At middle age Brenda and her husband realised that they needed to escape the rat race. They made the decision to rent their home out for six months and went to live in Umbria, Italy. The transformation in mind, body and spirit due to their slower lifestyle compelled Brenda to write about her experience.

“My Renaissance’ is a coffee table book written in the form of a memoir.

It is an inviting recount of the complexity of adapting to a life in Italy, in particular the remote region of Umbria. Many will be able to identify with this personal insight, of surrendering to a simple life on a farm where time almost stood still.

This personal memoir takes the reader on a beautiful journey, geographical and emotional, through the Italian countryside. It is written with honesty and some humour, enabling the reader to share in the delights and frustrations of living in a foreign countr y.

Superb photography and Brenda’s watercolour paintings showcase the riches of Umbria, century old palazzos and ancient hilltop villages, all while enjoying the region’s cuisine and wine.

This book is an exquisite and essential armchair travellers’ guide.

My Renaissance is available as an ebook or in hard copy.
