“Nightmare”: ex-coach

An assistant coach with Warragul football club two seasons ago says he mightn’t have taken on the job had he known players had to train at the rear of Logan Park every second week.

Mark Collison, now senior coach of Traralgon that played at Warragul last Saturday, described the arrangement as a nightmare.

“To build a competitive side (in Gippsland League) you need access to a good ground every week”.

The ground share arrangement (with Warragul Industrials) was terrible and a big mental drain on the players, Collison said.

Collison was an assistant playing coach at Warragul in 2013 before moving to Queensland for a season and then this year returning to his original club Traralgon.
